Bill Cosby is pulling in the big guns ahead of his retrial for sexual assault.
And he’s tapped a prominent name to aid his case.
Full story below…
As widely reported, over 50 women have come forward accusing the beleaguered comedian of drugging and sexually assaulting them.
However, Andrea Constand‘s claim (dating back to an alleged incident in 2004) is the only one to proceed to trial due to fact the statute of limitations haven’t run out.
That case ended in a mistrial back in June and saw 80 year old Cosby walk free. Temporarily.
A retrial date was subsequently set for November 6th; and with pre-trial hearings set to commence this week, Cosby’s rep has announced a change in his legal representation.
Previous attorneys Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa are out and have been replaced by a team led by Tom Mesereau.
The renown lawyer is most notable for securing a “Not Guilty” verdict for Michael Jackson in his 2005 abuse trial.
Other attorneys now in the defence mix for Cosby include Kathleen Bliss and Sam Silver.
The fallen icon is currently free on $1 million bail. [Source]

This makes yours truly feel all sorts of uneasy.
Because, as a MJ fan who followed his 2005 trial with eagle-like precision it was clear that the evidence pointed towards his innocence.
But with Bill Cosby, the sheer volume of accusations along with the eery similarities between each woman’s account arguably suggests otherwise. Arguably.
By taking on Tom Mesereau, the broader media will no-doubt tie the cases together when the reality is that there aren’t any links beyond the accused being famous.
In any case, and most importantly, we just hope – one the facts are laid out – that justice is served.
