King of Pop Michael Jackson was the King of television Friday night (October 27th) as reports indicate his CBS Halloween special, ‘Michael Jackson’s Halloween,’ reigned over ratings and scored yet another win for the network in the process.
Viewership: 5.67 million
As reported here, ‘Michael Jackson’s Halloween’ was an animated, reimagined take on the pop icon’s magnum opus, ‘Thriller.’ Featuring the voices of Jim Parsons, Christine Baranski, Alan Cumming, Lucy Liu, and more, the made-for-TV flick soared onto small screens Friday night and – in the process – knocked the competition out of the park.
Coming in as the #1 rated non-sports related program of the night for its time slot, the special helped lead CBS to an all around win.
From a demo perspective, the series led the night among ALL programming (even beating out Friday’s usual champions ‘Blue Bloods’ and ‘MacGyver’).
