Will Smith‘s new Sci-Fi action flick ‘Bright’ has been receiving rather dark reviews. However, new figures show that it’s proving a hit with viewers.

Full story below…

Perhaps in a bid to buffer the almost unanimously terrible commentary from critics, Netflix have broken long-held protocol to reveal viewership numbers for the police thriller.

According to the service, the big budget movie (which sees the platform push ahead with its bid to rival cinema releases) drew an average minute U.S. audience of 11 million TV viewers during its first three days on the service.

The film, which was heavily promoted and launched on December 22nd, no doubt benefitted in earnest from the holiday window.

It’s audience is leaning on the younger side, with 18-34 year olds accounting for 7 million of said views.

Polarizing response aside, the numbers don’t lie. So…congrats?

If numbers don’t lie, why did Sam just bîtch about Rihanna’s Anti album on the billboard charts? Fûckin hypocrites

Those number are free streams, those numbers occasionally tell lies

I agree Tori. To this day I do not understand the importance of counting free streams. If I listen to an album free on Spotify or some other streaming platform that should not be considered a sale because I did not pay anything to listen and I did not pay for the Spotify subscription either.

No dumb sh*t those numbers are not free streaming. 600k were sales and the were from people who spend their money for a monthly subscription, which accounts for more than 50% of Music consumption. You clearly don’t know how streaming works if you think streaming is free.

        Meme is correct!

The numbers only include people who viewed the movie using a TV…. Laptops and Phone apps were not including in the numbers, which could possiblly be a huge increase in numbers. The movie was GREAT, I think the critics really thought they would destroy this big move NetFlix made!

I have not watched it yet but Netflix and Amazon are doing big things. I regret not buying stock in those companies years ago when it was cheap.

It’s a great movie, and majority of fans agree.

I’m a huge Will Smith fan and I have to say it was a solid performance by the Fresh Prince. The movie was good but not great. Is it worth watching? absolutely. I despise how he’s been dragged by critics and “fan ” people the past few years. Heres hoping the King is back.

Joel Edgerton was great in this movie
