‘The Real’ is here for the long haul.

For, FOX has just re-upped on its daytime talker in a major way.

Full story below…

It’s been announced that the hit series has been renewed for two more seasons – thus keeping the show on air through the 2018-19 and 2019-20 TV cycles.

Since launching in 2013, the Emmy-nominated series (which is anchored by Adrienne Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry) has matured into a social media force with more than 12 million social actions last season.

It also boasts the youngest average age of all talk shows in syndication.

Speaking on the pick-up, Ken Werner, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution said in a statement:

“’Since 2010-11 season, 23 talk shows have launched and ’The Real’ and ‘Steve Harvey’ are the only two series to last four or more seasons. While there are other panel talk series on the air, what truly makes ‘The Real’ stand out from the pack is that it is comprised of four very strong, very authentic and very engaging hosts whose chemistry is unrivaled. FOX has been with us since the start, and we are thrilled that together we have built a strong franchise that will continue to entertain, inform and inspire viewers for years and years to come.”

Frank Cicha, Senior Vice President, Programming, FOX TV added:

“On one hand, it’s very gratifying to be renewing a program that started as a test. On the other hand, it doesn’t matter how it got here. Warner Bros. set out to fill a void and it fit our audience perfectly. Congrats to the cast and crew.” [Source]

Currently in its fourth season, ‘The Real’ recently switched to a live format – which has been received well. A reality that further highlights how well the show has been able to adapt to change (see: Tamar-gate).

Congrats to all!

This show sucks, these women are ignorant, I don’t know how anyone with a brain can watch this crap.

They know their target audience. A brain is not necessary to watch daytime tv. Daytime tv is nice to have on in the background if you are working from home, doing chores, or just want some background noise. It is not really something to really analyze, etc.

Although I do miss Tamar on the show. I do still enjoy the show when I get the chance to watch. Congrats to them.

As its evolved the show has gotten better and the hosts have become likeable. With or without Tamar I’m glad to see the growth.

Sidenote: Seems like karma is biting Tamar in her ass left and right. These girls were demonized after Tay-Tay’s departure yet the held it together with poise whereas others took their feelings out on social media. But look whose renewed, and look who is well….a s**t show for reality tv.

Congrats to the ladies of The Real
