Published: Wednesday 3rd Jan 2018 by Rashad

Fans of the New York edition of VH1’s hit reality franchise, ‘Love & Hip Hop,’ not only got to kick off 2018 by finding out the latest shenanigans of Remy Ma, Yandy Smith-Harris, newcomer Lil’ Mo, and more on Monday night (January 1), but were also introduced to the newest member of the franchise’s family – ‘Love & Hip Hop: Miami’ (starring Trina, Trick Daddy, and more).

As we reported here, anticipation for the cast of ‘The Magic City’s addition to the franchise was high and, as reports now reveal, are certainly reflected in the viewership numbers of its premiere.  With figures in line with the respective inaugural episodes of its ‘LHH’ predecessors, tuck in below to see just how many Miami’s crew reeled in:

‘Love & Hip Hop: Miami’ Premiere Ratings:  1.83 Million

(#13 in list above)

For the 9 o’clock viewing hour, ‘Love & Hip Hop: Miami’ came in as the second highest rated non-sports or news related telecast.  Drawing in 1.82 million, the figures are in line with the premiere episodes of its ‘LHH’ sister shows.

Respective Premiere Ratings of the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Editions

  • Miami – 1.82 million [2018]
  • Hollywood  – 2.80 million [2014]
  • Atlanta – 1.92 million [2012]
  • New York –  1.93 million [2011]

To date, Atlanta remains the highest rated of the overall franchise.  Here’s hoping Miami can one day boast the same. Congratz to VH1 and Mona Scott-Young for another win.

Mona really needs to be a lot more careful with the depiction of gay men of color that she displays throughout this franchise. She chooses the most flamboyant, do nothing, careless, over-the-top for no reason kweens that she can find from the community. it’s disgusting!
