The John Boyega-fronted project ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ is to rock the box office!
Brilliant news below…
Following in the footsteps of Ryan Coogler‘s ‘Black Panther’ and Ava DuVernay‘s ‘Wrinkle in Time’ the movie is to open with a brilliant $145.8 million by the end of its opening weekend.
This awesome figure is to be pulled in from 62 markets, China included, and means the project can be expected to recoup its $155 million budget by its second weekend!
China was the lead market on the previous movie with a final $112M, outperforming domestic. The opening on that one was about $45M in summer 2013, before the exponential Middle Kingdom growth of the past five years. Uprising, which stars Star Wars’ John Boyega (also a producer), scored what appears to be the biggest China opening day of 2018 for a Hollywood movie with $22.8M on Friday, followed by an estimated $25.2M on Saturday.
Fantastic.
Two words. BLACK EXCELLENCE.
He’s fine. He can get this anytime. My booty hole is wide open for black d!!ck. Breed me raw and don’t pull out.
China loves this pshit. It is gonna flop in the US and reviews are not good. Very misleading headline as usual. This guy is not that good of an actor by the way. Like at all.
Shut up s****. You know your master like black d!!ck! Get on your knees ho and stop hating on black men. You better start liking big black d!!ck cause massa do.
Misleading title as always but: Good for him!
The Chinese market extra-ordinary growth has been saving a lot of movies that would have been total flops 10 years ago.
It used to be deadly for such a movie to flop in the US.
Now, they have another Monmouth market that can pick up the slacks.
John Co-produced the movie fool and isn’t his face on the poster?
Exactly! This isn’t Oscar material but then neither is Fast and Furious or the Transformers franchise. Reviews aside, I’m sure Boyega’s main concern is recouping budget and not losing money. He hasn’t so it’s a win no matter who wants to portray it otherwise.
This is excellent. Congratulations.
Flop is the US, yes, but globally will do OK.
For better, Hollywood is placing less importance on the opening weekend in America. You should too. The movie has made over $140million worldwide and will do very well in China and Japan. Having said that, it’s still a disappointing performance in the US.
