Michael B. Jordan Covers Vanity Fair / Explains His Plan To Advance Black Representation In Film

Published: Tuesday 2nd Oct 2018 by Sam

Michael B. Jordan gets wet in the latest issue of Vanity Fair. Classily, of course.

The Hollywood force has been unstoppable of late, wracking up major roles in the likes of ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Just Mercy.’

Next month though, he steps back into the ring as the lead in ‘Creed II.’

Due in theaters on November 21st, the flick is tipped for major success following the knockout run of its 2015 predecessor.

Beyond the personal perks of his ascent, Jordan tells VF that he wants his wins to open up the doors for black talent – by reaching a level where his race doesn’t even matter.

Peep an excerpt and pics from the feature below:

Via Vanity Fair:

Jordan has declared that he wants to advance the cultural aims of black people on film. He also wants to become a matinee idol on par with Leonardo DiCaprio or Matt Damon, which means he wants the ultimate kind of racial equity—to be a movie star, full stop. “I’m first and foremost a black man, for sure, but what I’m trying to do, and what I’m trying to represent and build, is universal,” he says.

“We live in the times where everything is based around race,” he says. “And for me, it’s like, I get it, I understand. It just makes everything so loaded. When the way to do it is to Trojan-horse it, so then people look up, and say, ‘Oh wow, what happened? I didn’t even realize that.’ ”

Interesting outlook!

That is because you haven’t seen him up close and in person!
      IJS
He gets the eye turn when he walks in the room. I have witnessed it.
      And for good reason.

I wish people would stop fooling themselves into thinking that race doesn’t or won’t matter one day. This country was built on racism. Any and everything will ALWAYS be about race. And you’re fooling yourself & setting yourself up for failure if you think otherwise.

He wants to be in the category of Leo and Matt Damon, but he’s afraid to do roles that require actual ARTISTIC talent.

I guarantee if a gay role was offered to Michael B. Jordan, his black, insecure ass would curse out the casting agent and demand to be put back into a superhero-type role. Dummy.
