Another couple are calling it quits. And this time it’s Monica and husband of 9 years Shannon Brown.

According to TMZ, the Grammy winner filed for divorce from ex-NBA star Brown earlier this month, and had hoped to keep proceedings under wraps. However, her bid to move forward privately wasn’t granted.
The couple, who share a five year old daughter named Laiyah, have long-maintained the image of a happy family (which is blended with Mo’s sons from a previous relationship).
Yet, fractures showed when the rumor-mill claimed they’d separated last October.
What is for sure, though, is that the pair are now going their separate ways.
Both have been silent, but just this week Monica hinted at overcoming hardships on social media…

This is not a surprise. I think this divorce is due to financial problems. His career has been downward ever since the Lakers traded him and Mo’s career has been stale over a decade.
