With a decorated resume of 30+ years of stand up comedy, sketch shows, and concerts to his credit, Jamie Foxx is a pro when it comes to the live stage. As such, it should come as no surprise the 51-year-old – who was recently tapped to topline a live crossover remake of classic 70’s television shows ‘The Jeffersons’ and ‘All in the Family’ (as we reported here) – was able to hilariously recover when he flubbed a line.
Breaking character, the Oscar winner earned laughs from co-stars and from the audience when he stumbled over his words during the showing which aired live tonight (May 22). Curious to see how he rebounded? Look inside:

he did this INTENTIONALLY in an effort to snag an isolated moment for HIMSELF. im glad to see Wanda Sykes not play into his foolishness the ways in which other cast members did. Jamie Foxx is NOT organically funny. She’s obnoxious. tho… he did pull off George Jefferson quite well in the special segment dedicated to THE JEFFERSONS. it was also a pleasure watching Marla Gibbs relive FLORENCE at the legendary age of 86. i was so emotional when she entered the scene.
I fell asleep halfway through the first episode, and now I hate that I missed Marla Gibbs. I wasn’t impressed with the portion I saw and wish they had done an update rather than an exact copy using the same script. Those shows are surprisingly relevant today considering how long ago they were on the air.
This Live rendition of both shows was amazing and nostalgic. Marisa Tomei stole the show! She was the perfect cast. She brought the character of Edith Bunker back to life and it was effortless. I was so happy to see Marla and Jackee reunited but when Marla came out I gagged. I wish it was a full season rather than one episode. Also JHud, KILLED ‘Movin on Up’…such a pleasure to witness all the greatness last night. Bravo ABC!
