Because the media maven will officially be receiving a star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Today saw the committee announce that 35 notable names from the realms of film, TV, theater, music, and radio, have been chosen to receive the honor on the iconic strip in 2020.
Williams, who began her seasoned career in radio, will be saluted for her services in TV.
Elsewhere, actors Chris Hemsworth, Julia Roberts, Octavia Spencer and Mahershala Ali were picked in the Motion Picture category; also present on that list are Oscar-winning directors Spike Lee and Lina Wertmuller, as well as fictional character Batman.
Joining Williams in the TV category are Christina Applegate, Andy Cohen, Cindy Crawford, Terry Crews, Kathie Lee Gifford, Nigel Lythgoe, Milo Ventimiglia, Burt Ward, Dr. Phil McGraw, and the late comedian Andy Kaufman.
50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) secured a spot in the Music category.

For Williams especially, the Star represents a ray of sunshine during a difficult time (see: divorce). But, without a drop of doubt, the honor is oh so deserved.

Much can and has been said about Wendy but you cannot deny her impact on pop culture. Much respect is due to her and she deserves this recognition.

there really quite a few names on this list, INCLUDING Wendy’s that are a premature honor. Andy Cohen, 50 Cent, Octavia Spencer & Chris Hemsworth have not done enough YET to be emblazoned on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. it’s way too soon.
I’m also SHOCKED to see that Julia Roberts & Spike Lee are only NOW receiving their just due!
how in hell did Taraji P. Henson receive her star BEFORE the Iconic Spike Lee?
this just goes to show that modern day accolades are EMPTY. everything is handed out to this era’s of celebrities far too easily & way too soon. they practically accomplish Nothing in order to garner success that others served DECADES to achieve.
this is a pity honor for Wendy. honestly.

@Brent – In regards to Julia, she didn’t initially want one. A celebrity can be offered one but they can decline and Julia has and stated in quite a few interviews back in the day that she didn’t want one. In regards to your statements about Wendy, I totally agree. This is a PR spin for her.
