Nick Cannon Lands Daytime Talkshow; Sets 2020 Debut

Published: Wednesday 25th Sep 2019 by Sam

Nick Cannon‘s quest to conquer a multitude of TV formats has been gifted a gargantuan boost. For, it’s been announced that the media maestro has nabbed his own daytime talkshow.

Details below…

Deadline reports that Cannon will be adding talkshow host to his packed list of gigs (which currently includes ‘Wild N’ Out,’ hosting duties on ‘The Masked Singer’ and an anchoring spot on Power 106’s ‘Nick Cannon Mornings’).

For his foray into talk (which’ll hit screens in 2020), the star has teamed with Debmar-Mercury (producers of The Wendy Williams Show) and will co-produce under his Ncredible Entertainment umbrella.

Speaking on the venture, Cannon said in a statement:

“After leaving America’s Got Talent, I wanted to focus on developing my own talk show. I’ve always dreamed of a platform where I can speak to America and discuss pop culture, as well as the topics on everyone’s minds. When I had the opportunity to guest host at my good friend Wendy Williams’ show this year, I experienced the energy and excitement of a daytime talk show and instantly knew I found my audience.”

Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein added:

“We are excited to be able to announce this collaboration with Nick, who has proven himself to be such a dominant creative and entrepreneurial force across film, primetime TV, music, comedy, stage and online platforms. The daytime audience got to see that firsthand earlier this year with his stellar performance guest hosting The Wendy Williams Show. Now we can’t wait to see Nick put his own unique stamp on talk and add daytime to his impressive list of accomplishments.”

Huge congrats to Nick! His hustle and longevity are undeniable.

Cornball? Owns shares in a children network. Owner to the Wilding-out franchise and worth 40 million dollars. You sound completely HOOD and Fully STUPID. NICK CANNON is the man you should want. NOT FUTURE. You dumb-sounding Animal. That’s why you stupid G_AYS are single at 48 years old

I think you misread. Cornball is a term used to describe one’s personality. It is not a put down on one’s business acumen. He was just describing Nick’s personality and I dont think being gay or straight has anything to do with formulating an opinion on someone’s personality. A lot of people on other sites have called Nick a cornball.

In terms of your claim that “Nick is the man you should want”. I strongly disagree with that. He stated numerous times he does not want ever to be in a committed relationship with anyone again. On TI’s podcast this morning he said the same thing again. He also blabs his mouth about people he bedded quite often. He is not desireable imo.

Calling a Clean-cut Successful STRAIGHT man a cornball – because he’s not FUTURE or JAY Z does not make him a cornball. it makes him a HUMAN being who sets a great example for men of color. Have some class

Please share your definition of cornball. I think your understanding of the word is very negative. I dated a few cornballs in high school and college. When I think of the word cornball I think of guys that spit lame game, are the opposite of thuggish, the opposite of muscular, but are cute and intelligent….aka charming. I think Nick Cannon is a cornball but it is your understanding of the word cornball that is very negative. If you go on urban dictionary and look up the word cornball it describes exactly what I am saying (in other words). I think Matt Kemp is a cornball too but you see he pulled Rihanna. Cornballs are very charming. Tiger Woods is a cornball too.

Also, I do not like your subliminal diss towards gay men. Many gay men own businesses, are successful, great role models, and are very wealthy (Elton John, Tyler Perry, Ricky Martin, Anderson Cooper, Michael Kors, etc).

Furthermore, I disagree with your idiotic assumption black men who are not rappers are automatically “cornballs”. There are plenty of “clean-cut successful” black men that are not thought of as cornballs like Michael Jordan, Steve Harvey, Morris Chesnut, Denzel Washington, Boris Kudjo, Lebron James, Terrence Howard, Trey Songz.

Your real issue is that you have a crush on Nick Cannon and you want everyone yo validate your crush and put him on some pedastool like you do. Sorry it aint happening. He is corny…always has been. Get over it.

I fully support nick and all his ventures. He’s one of the few child stars who matured into a successful adult. But my thing is why is EVERYONE getting a talk show? And doesn’t he already host like 3 other shows? How is he gonna have time?

I was about to say something along the lines of this. The daytime talk show market is oversaturated but I wish him the best.

    No thanks

  7. High Price September 25, 2019

I hope his style in hosting on his daytime show is along the lines of how he hosted Wendy’s show. I enjoyed every minute! He was funny, informative, and messy lol. We don’t really have many men like HIM who hosts in that style. Only other man who I think would come close is Charlemagne… This will be interesting though…

He better talk to Steve Harvey and Monique before Carrie Underwood decides she wants to have her own talk show! SMH

Nick is annoying. It won’t last, sad to say.

  9. PinotNoir September 25, 2019

Talk about what exactly? What topic hasn’t already been covered by The View, The Talk, The Real, Wendy, Steve, Oprah, Phil, Tyra, Oz, Meredith, Ellen, Hoda & Kathy Lee, Strahan & Sara, Regis/Ryan & Kelly, Latifa, Megyn Kelly, and the newest edition, Kelly Clarkson? These people are getting rich by talking you to vegetation. Only in America …

Good for him. Sum things in entertainment are so wrong that it’s RIGHT. (Ex Will Smith playing Jennie. Halle/Bey playing Ariel/nala, This) can’t say I think it will be very successful tho.
