‘Revenge’ gripped viewers for four piping hot seasons and now it seems ABC want back in…with a twist.
For, the network is reportedly prepping a reboot with a Latin lead.
Full story below…
According to Deadline, the revamped version of ‘Revenge’:
“…tells the story of a young Latinx immigrant. Guided by one of the original series’ favorite characters, she arrives in Malibu to exact revenge on a Sackler-esque pharmaceutical dynasty, whose insatiable greed lead to the murder of her biochemist mother, the destruction of her family, and a global epidemic.”
Fans of the original will note parallels between this and the narrative of Emily Thorne, Victoria Grayson, Nolan Ross, and co – which aired weekly from 2011 to 2015.
Such similarities will doubt leave many keen to see how the much-loved characters will be adapted for the refreshed version.
Per the report, the re-imagined effort is being spearheaded by the original series’ creator/executive producer Mike Kelley, writer-producer Joe Fazzio, Temple Hill and ABC Studios.
This is all sorts of surprising, given that reboots typically don’t circle back around so soon. That said, we loved us some ‘Revenge’ and are willing to give this a chance.
