Shaunie O’Neal is stepping up to defend herself against the ‘Basketball Wives‘ production insider who leaked information about the future of the show to the reputable blind items website ‘Crazy Days and Nights.’
The business woman’s response?
Wait and see.
Full story below…
The ‘Basketball Wives’ TV empire is owned by Viacom (home of VH1) and is powered by ratings/money generated by viewers.
So, when said viewers used social media to slam the conflict of interest the show presented by allowing O’Neal to stand as both star and producer there were fears the series would follow in the damned footsteps of ‘Basketball Wives Miami’.
On Friday, a story published by ‘Crazy Days and Nights’ startled the entrepreneur’s fans by sharing a story, said to have been delivered by VH1 insider, which revealed that the company had its ear to the digital streets and planned to rescue the series by draining the power out of production role so that they could steer it in a democratic direction.
The leak read…
She is going to have to give up that producer title (or at least all the power she had with the title) to stick around for another season. Shaquille O’Neal/Shaunie O’Neal “Basketball Wives”.
It seems, the alleged move was to be made to quietly to reprimand the Reality TV star for her mishandling of the show’s colorism and bullying scandal while protecting her from the backlash she would face if her detractors learned that she had become a “lame duck.”
It didn’t help that OG Chijindu, who Shaunie is feuding with, is said to have been asked to return to the show for a third season. A clear sign, as far as some saw it, that Shaquille O’Neal’s ex-wife was no longer calling the shots.
The fact that OG came on the scene and broke that mean girl shit up was all the satisfaction I needed.Shaunie can keep her title but OG revealed the bullshit that Shaunie do. #basketballwives

Watching an interview with OG from BBWLA and sis is sooooo well spoken and, dare I say, intelligent af. Shaunie must’ve really made sure that show was edited af

I hope the rumors are true that shaunie may get the boot as a producer. She’s been holding it against these women for too long. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. #basketballwives

If Shaunie weren’t a producer, she would’ve only lasted a season or two. She uses her title to intimidate the cast, is boring & never has a storyline outside of promoting her weed business that I’ve never heard of. Time to pull your weight now, nostrils! #basketballwives pic.twitter.com/0LkZDkTvfm

i swear i was the only person who agreed with brandi. if shaunie cant take the heat, she needs to stay a producer and not be apart of the show. https://t.co/BP8tL2ejbh

I don’t understand how shaunie is even allowed to be part of the cast when she uses being the executive producer as a way to scare the women away from calling her out for being messy. Notice what happened to Brandi when she called shaunie out. #basketballwives

LOL on this reality show, they are telling this girl Brandi she needs to apologize to Shaunie because shaunie is the executive producer of the show and therefore her boss 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’m so proud that @VH1 is finally gonna stop supporting the favoritism, elitism, colorism and unfair biases that @ShaunieONeal thrived on. Time’s up sa-weetie! @iHeartOG, you truly shook the table this season sis! 🙌🏾

It’s all a lie.
She told concerned fans…
Wait for the credits my love. #BeBlessed.
Unfortunately, some aren’t convinced….as they believe the leak holds weight because of the platform it emerged on and because it anticipated her denial by adding..
She is going to have to give up that producer title (or at least all the power she had with the title) to stick around for another season.
If shaunie o’Neill lose that producer roll in basketball wives yall can kiss my view goodbye@BasketballWives

Will OG’s return to the series prove that O’Neal has been demoted by her VH1 bosses?
