Published: Friday 7th Feb 2020 by Sam

With the world still processing the tragedy that claimed the lives of Kobe Bryant, daughter Gigi, and seven others, details of the NBA star’s anticipated memorial have been announced.

Full story below…

Vanessa Bryant, Kobe’s wife of 19 years, took to social media to share that a joint memorial for her husband and daughter will take place on February 24th.

Its location will be the Staples Center, where Kobe famously played home games for the LA Lakers.

The date is of numerical significance, with Vanessa highlighting that the #2 represents Gigi’s jersey, #24 is of course Kobe’s, and the 20 mirroring the number of years he played professionally as a Laker.

Huge crowds are expected and, per TMZ, several guest speakers are being lined up for what is sure to be an emotional send-off.

Kobe, 41, and Gigi lost their lives in a fatal helicopter crash enroute to a youth basketball game.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with The Bryants and all of the families affected.

Kobe inspired and influenced 90% of the current players in the NBA. He’s still inspiration to 50% of players in every sports and was an mentor to players from the NBA, NFL, WNBA, NCAAW basketball and even pro soccer.

He participated in over 200 make a wishes for sick and dying kids, gave millons in charity, gave countless of his time and money towards kids camps, and was working hard on helping elevate female youth, college and pro basketball.

All that is nothing compared to the man, husband and father he had become. Would literally do anything for his girls which is why he started taking the helicopter to begin with. His simply didn’t wanna miss family time or taking and picking his girls up from school.

So no matter how the media try to tarnish his legacy with a bogus r*** case that was dropped us real fans, friends and his loved onc will be here to set the record straight.
