Rosario Dawson is speaking out in more ways than one.
Renown for being fiercely private, the actress has revealed in a new interview that she is a member of the LGBTQ community.

In a feature with Bustle, the mom of one addressed what many took as a “coming out” during a Pride post in 2018.
At the time, she captioned entry with lyrics from Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You.’
“I will not be ashamed. This is just who I am, and who I was meant to be. No mistakes . . . I’m proud.”
She went on to add:
“Happy pride month! sending love to my fellow lgbtq+ homies. keep being strong in the face of adversity. loud & proud.

Speaking on that moment, she remarked:
“People kept saying that I [came out] . . . I didn’t do that. I mean, it’s not inaccurate, but I never did come out come out…I mean, I guess I am now.”
The star didn’t pinpoint exactly how she identifies her sexuality, but did add that she hadn’t yet been in a queer relationship. She explained:
“I’ve never had a relationship in that space, so it’s never felt like an authentic calling to me.”
Dawson also seized the moment to open up about her relationship with former presidential candidate, Cory Booker:
“It’s the first time I felt like I had to be responsible about my choice of love, which is a challenging thing to do,” she said. “If you fall in love, you fall in love. But there’s another aspect I had to consider: what this meant in [putting] a microscope on my family and particularly on my daughter.
But in each other I think we found our person.”

Agreed! I’m an 80s baby and I just don’t get the need for “coming” out. To me, its tactless and superfluous. What ever happened to what stays in the bedroom…? It seems like the gays of this time just want to tell the world that they like dck or psy when. Much more important things in life. And if someone wants to know, then make the decision if you want to let them know or not. I’m gay, and the very foundation of being gay is ALL ABOUT S**. Reel it in, People.

Down low? Pride in who you shag when its no business but yours and that person? What makes it so important to reveal this to strangers? Not being sarcastic, I really want to understand why the gays place such a spotlight on alerting the world who they like to shag. Again, it not anyone’s business…and to assert that keeping ones sexual proclivities private is them being “down low” to me just means that you are a person who wants strangers to know everything about you. Why not tell them everything? Tell them your credit score, how much money you have, tell them how you wipe your ass – backwards or forward- tell them that you’re about to pick your nose, etc. I’m being phecetious but I’m sure you get the point.
People will know if you’re gay or not by your tendency to show them without explicitly telling them. Just by simply living your life people will usually know…and if they don’t but want to, then tell them! But the unsolicited announcements aren’t necessary.
Don’t straight ppl constantly tell us who they shag
As far as an announcement? Not that I’ve seen. But we witness it in how they live their lives which is my point. And even if they did…that reminds me of the old saying “If so and so jumps off a bridge, are you?” It’s a dumb counter-argument.

Thanks! Yes people straight or gay are all different. And I’m really not here for the gay agenda, as a gay person. But let’s be clear…I stand against any and all discrimination against anyone about anything. I just feel like I’m living in a time where I cringe at the thought if being gay…not because of past transgressions from non-gay folks, but from the actions of my peers.

Interesting that she’s came out as per a quick google search shows back in November 2019 a transgendered male brought allegations against Rosario and her family for abuse and discrimination….. and now Rosario is a member of the LGBTQ community ? when in all actuality she’s probably been licking kitties since 1995 but now you wanna come out?
