Netflix continue to blaze quite the trail.
Not content with with revolutionising the way the world watches TV and film, the streamer is veering beyond the screen to bring a unique experience to the live circuit.
Moments ago, the service announced the ‘Netflix Is A Joke Fest’ in conjunction with Live Nation.
Set to take place in Los Angeles from April 27th – May 3rd, it’ll be comprised of over 100 live stand-up shows, special events and activations with comedians and artists from around the globe.
These include: Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Jamie Foxx, Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Lawrence, Wanda Sykes, Ali Wong, Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, David Letterman, Jane Fonda, Sebastian Maniscalco, the cast of Schitt’s Creek and more.
Speaking on the ‘Netflix Is A Joke Fest,’ Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer said in a statement:
“It’s our honor to transform LA for one week into the funniest place on earth. This festival is a unique celebration of the art of comedy, and the role it plays in reflecting our lives and defining culture. It’s a chance for comedy lovers to come together and see their favorite artists as well as discover new ones, and for us to be able to share the electricity and excitement of the festival in Los Angeles with Netflix members around the world.”
Primarily anchored in the Hollywood area, the festival will take place across over 20 venues in LA, including the Hollywood Bowl, Greek Theatre, Hollywood Palladium, The Largo and more.
