ABC’s primetime special, ‘The Disney Family Singalong,’ summoned the vocal stylings of Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, and more) to crank out the likes of ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ (‘Pinocchio’), ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ (‘Lion King’), ‘Colors of the Wind’ (‘Pocahontas’), ‘Let It Go’ (‘Frozen’), and more.
A means to help ease the monotony of quarantining during the coronavirus pandemic, the TV event – which aired Thursday (April 16)- roped in over 10 million viewers.
“Based on the fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen (which are time period based and subject to change), The Disney Family Singalong led the primetime troops on Thursday, April 16 with an estimated 10.3 million viewers and a 2.6 rating in the coveted adult 18-49 demographic from 8-9 p.m. ET.
Comparably, this was almost double the demo rating for the No. 2 rated show of the evening, lead-out drama Station 19 (1.4). The Disney Family Singalong also bested the No. 2 rated network in the Thursday 8 p.m. ET time period, sitcoms Young Sheldon and Man With a Plan on CBS, by approximately 2.4 million viewers and 206% in the demographic, respectively.”
