Elba is one of the first public figures to reveal that he had contracted the Coronavirus and received a wave of love and support from the general public as he recovered.
Today he finds himself on the receiving end of criticism after he suggested that the world should quarantine should one week a year once the virus fades away in remembrance of this period in time.
He shared…
I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time. Remember each other. I really do.
I think it’s… other species use it. It’s called hibernation. But it does remind you that the world doesn’t tick on your time.
It’s been about six weeks from the beginning to this point right now for us, where it’s essentially our lives turned around.
His suggestion was slammed on social media.

It must be nice that your hardest work is reading scripts and collecting millions of dollars for remembering lines for a tv/film project. That’s ok, but don’t tell average hard working people that they can afford to have everything shut down one week every year.
