The wealthy celebrity couple are interested in purchasing the Mets and called on the large financial institution JP Morgan to help them work their way through what may be one of the biggest deals of the last decade.
They hatched the plan to invest in the team after learning that Wilpon family, which owns the Mets, planned to sell up to 80% of the Major League Baseball team.
With a combined net worth of $700 million, Lopez and Rodriguez hope to raise enough capital with Morgan to seal the deal.
