The cancellation crew have their sights set on ‘Tonight Show’ host Jimmy Fallon as the actor-comedian is trending on Twitter thanks to resurfaced footage from ‘SNL’ that depicts him performing in blackface.
The clip, derived from an episode of ‘SNL’ that aired in 2000, shows Fallon with a painted face impersonating fellow comedian Chris Rock. Engaging in the socially frowned upon practice of ‘blackface,’ the sketch’s resurfacing over Memorial Day weekend has led to the hashtag #jimmyfallonisoverparty going viral.
While some have used the hashtag to draw attention to reports he nor ‘SNL’ have never publicly apologized for the skit, others question the validity of the cancellation attempt overall.
