Ruby Rose stepped away from the role after one season in the role and is to be replaced by the African-American actress Javicia Leslie who is to step into the Batman universe as a character named Ryan Wilder.
Leslie was enlisted to lead the series after producers watched her soar in ‘God Friended Me’ and ‘Family Business’ and will support her when production on its second season kicks off this year.
Leslie’s new deal comes decades after Eartha Kitt portrayed Catwoman.

No one cares. They shouldn’t have cast Ruby Rose to begin with. We already have Black Lightening and Black Characters on Legends of Tomorrow. This wasn’t exactly necessary. I would have preferred someone else. But congrats to her – this is an achievement. And last but not least she is beautiful. It will be strange at first to see a Batwoman with Dreads. But I’m down with it. Low key they should have just canceled the show because I don’t know anyone who watches it.
