Published: Monday 20th Jul 2020 by Sam

As the entertainment industry takes a brick-by-brick approach to rebuilding in the current climate, a devastating blow has been dealt to cinemas summer season.

Because hotly anticipated blockbuster ‘Tenet’ has been delayed indefinitely.

Full story below…

Directed by Christopher Nolan and headlined by John David Washington (son of Denzel Washington), the action thriller was widely expected to help revive the movie market after the impact of the pandemic.

Initially due on July 17th, the time-twisting film was then moved to August 12th.

That date has now been pulled by Warner Bros.

But fans needn’t fret because the studio maintain that they have big plans for the flick.

In a statement, Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich said:

“We will share a new 2020 release date imminently for Tenet, Christopher Nolan’s wholly original and mind-blowing feature. We are not treating Tenet like a traditional global day-and-date release, and our upcoming marketing and distribution plans will reflect that.”

While we wait the new date, which we imagine will be geared towards the latter part of the year, peep the latest trailer for ‘Tenet’ below…

Sucks because this movie was filmed back in 2017 they tried to get a July release of 2019 then pushed it back to 2020. Crazy because the first trailer came out January 2019 and now it isn’t even coming out. That sucks

Actually you’re incorrect. I’ve been following this movie because I’m a fan.

Principal photography didn’t begin until May 2019 actually. The three main leads were announced back in March 2019. The director Chris Nolan chose John David Washington after watching his performance in BlaKKKlansman which didn’t release until 2018.

Nonetheless I’m bummed about the movie being delayed. It’s going to be incredible.
