Tyler Perry‘s relationship with BET continues to prove fruitful as a recent announcement reveals the mogul is unveiling two new series for the network: a reboot of the LaVan Davis-led ‘House of Payne’ and the premiere of the David & Tamela Mann-toplined ‘Assisted Living.’
First finding a home at TBS, Tyler Perry’s ‘House of Payne’ – which ended its inaugural eight season run in 2012 – is getting a lifeline from BET.
Assembling most of its original cast for what is set to be its season 9, viewers can expect to see Lavan Davis (Curtis Payne), Cassi Davis Patton (Ella), Lance Gross (Calvin), Demetria McKinney (Janine), China Anne McClain (Jazmine), Keshia Knight Pulliam (Miranda), and Allen Payne (CJ) all resume their roles.
Premiering September 2 at 9 pm EST, the comedy will act as a lead-in for new Perry series ‘Assisted Living’ which is set to see real life husband-wife duo, David & Tamela Mann, resume their roles as Brown & Cora (of Tyler Perry’s ‘Meet the Browns’).
‘Living’ arrives at 10 p.m. EST on September 2.
