LisaRaye McCoy celebrated her birthday today and while (for most) it’d be a day of rest, the actress turned in quite the performance.
The drama began when her half-sister DaBrat called into Fox Soul‘s Cocktails With Queens to help her celebrate her day.
While attempting to articulate her birthday wish, the rapper was interrupted by LisaRaye who seized the moment to confront her.
The issue?
According to ‘The Players Club’ star, she found out about Da Brat’s sexuality via blogs and social media – when she came out as being in a relationship with Jesseca Dupart.
So intense was the segment that at one point LisaRaye told her intervening co-hosts “I don’t give a f*ck what y’all saying. At all.”

It’s not about her not knowing – she obviously knew, LisaRaye said she was angered by the fact that she found out about it from the blogs, which made her feel some type of way, which is understandable.

I totally understand her. 1. You guys haven’t talked since November 2019 2. She’s been a supportive sister throughout the careers. 3. Finding out about someone so close to you about something that means so much from the streets that’ll make you feel some type of way. She never said she didn’t agree with her sexuality she actually said she was happy she’s living her truth. She just didn’t want to be left in the dark.
Doesn’t matter that Lisa Raye didn’t want to find out personal family details through the media or other people, but she has been in the business too long to NOT know that THIS response is not a good look. There are better ways to handle her feelings. Never been much of a Lisa Raye fan anyhow…
This was a really unfortunate thing to watch. It’s okay to feel a certain way, but how you express it, and when and where you express it, is the important thing. LisaRaye did not have to lash out the way she did while everyone tried earnestly to create a supportive and loving environment; LisaRaye was the only one disrupting that effort.
It’s not THAT bad. Lisa Raye’s reaction was a bit harsh, but she was hurt. She thought her and Brat were close enough that Lisa Raye would not have to learn big news about her half-sister through blogs and other public sources.
