And it sees the star team up with the City Girls.
Full story below…
Rae has trumpeted the arrival of new HBO Max show, ‘Rap Sh*t.’
The streamer has made an eight-episode order for the half-hour comedy series.
It’s billed as following two estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group.
Rae is on board as executive producer and will pen the pilot, while ‘Insecure’s Syreeta Singleton has been unveiled as showrunner.
Real-life Hip-Hop duo, Yung Miami and JT of City Girls are in the mix as co-executive producers, alongside their record label CEOs – Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas for Quality Control Films.
Initially launched as a label, Rae’s recently rebranded audio content company Raedio will oversee the music for the show
As at writing, casting is currently underway, with filming set to commence this summer.
Money moves.
Ok baps
She gonna play a 40 year old rapper? Really? 8 episodes….on streaming? I’m sorry, I don’t believe people have interest in Issa. HBO said we need a black show, so we can get some black customers, and we got the best PR people in Hollywood to hype you to America. Enter Insecure. Unfortunately no one cares or has paid any money to watch any of her film flops. She will disappear in about 4 years.

Love Issa, but I don’t know about this. Perhaps I will be more interested when the cast is announced, but anything City Girls and Quality Control turns me right off.
