Jamie Foxx‘s long-awaited Mike Tyson project is finally coming to screens.
Full story below…
Initially conceived as a movie as far back as 2014, it’s today been confirmed that the boxer’s story has been revised as a limited series.
The critical acclaimed Antoine Fuqua has boarded to direct Foxx in the lead role as Tyson – who has authorized the venture.
Per THR, the series, which is being executive produced by the legendary Martin Scorsese, will “span the life” of the iconic sportsman.
Ringmaster Tyson said in a statement:
“I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time. With the recent launch of Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my return to the ring, now feels like the perfect moment. I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains.”
The project is already tipped to be at the center of a fierce bidding war between major streamers and television networks.
