‘The Game’ is officially set to play on at Paramount+.
Early buzz about a possible revival generated ample excitement. And now the hype has cranked into overdrive because it’s been confirmed that not only is the hit series on its way back, it’ll be bringing a number of familiar faces with it.

Moments ago, the network trumpeted the news that ‘The Game’ has been picked up for a 10-episode new season.
What’s more, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Hosea Chanchez are confirmed to be reprising their roles as sports agent Tasha Mack and footballer Malik Wright, respectively.
For the reboot, the action moves from San Diego to Las Vegas and will blend the original cast with new faces.
Per the network, the football-focal series will tackle racism, sexism, classism, and more as they fight for fame, fortune, respect, and love.
Taking on a half-hour format, the series will be executive produced by original show creator Mara Brock Akil, showrunner and writer Devon Greggory (‘American Soul’), Salim Akil (‘Black Lightning’), and original executive producer Kelsey Grammer (‘Girlfriends’) and Tom Russo (‘Black-ish’) of Grammnet NH Productions.
Mara Brock Akil, who is now housed at Netflix, rejoiced at the revival news of her creation:
“Fifteen years ago I created ‘The Game’ and am so proud of the success we had, and that I was able to create characters and stories that resonated with so many people. I couldn’t be happier about leaving my beloved characters like Tasha Mack and Malik Wright in the hands of Devon, Wendy and Hosea, who I know will build off of the rich foundation the show has.”
Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming, Paramount+ added:
“From the moment it debuted, ‘The Game’ was a groundbreaking series that used humor, heart and memorable characters to explore real issues involving race, gender and, of course, football. What better time for Devon and the whole team to reunite for a fresh look at a world that has only become more at-the-center of the cultural conversation today.”
After debuting on The CW in 2006, ‘The Game’ aired for three seasons before its abrupt end in 2009 when the network moved away from the sitcom format.
Fan demand saw the show re-launched on BET in 2011 and ran for an additional six seasons – with the likes of Brandy, Lauren London, and Jay Ellis joining the cast.
