Kelly Clarkson may well be on the way to becoming the queen of daytime talk.
Because, after much speculation, it has been made official: the star’s series – The Kelly Clarkson Show – will take over the present spot occupied by The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

This month brought with it the news that The Ellen DeGeneres Show will be ending next year with its 19th season.
It immediately sparked debate about who would step into the coveted spot on NBC.
Clarkson, whose show airs on the network, had been touted as a frontrunner. But there was also a suggestion that an altogether different name could be brought in to front a fresh show in Ellen’s slot.
Well, all doubt has been dispelled. Because the American Idol alum has officially been named.
Valari Staab, president, NBCUniversal Local said in a statement:
“These are remarkable achievements for a talk show in its second season. We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres’ 19th season paired with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster year. By 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the star of our daytime entertainment schedules and an asset to our early afternoon newscasts.”
Tracie Wilson, Executive VP, NBCUniversal Syndication Studios added:
“The Kelly Clarkson Show is one of the most optimistic success stories in first-run syndication. It is a treasured part of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios offering and we are proud to partner with the NBC Owned Television Stations group to continue the show’s success. If there’s one thing that the modern entertainment sphere has highlighted, it’s that having multiple hustles is a surefire way to win.
As such, congrats to Kelly – who is making a mark across do many mediums.

I watch Wendy when she has a guest I like, but I rarely watched Ellen, and I don’t enjoy Kelly, Drew or Tamron. Queen Latifah was my favorite of the last 10 years.
