‘The Chi’ is coming back on the box for a fifth season!

It’s been confirmed that Lena Waithe and Common-created hit has been picked up by Showtime for another outing.
The news was trumpeted just one day after the season four finale kept viewers at the edge of their seats.
A coming of age story set in Chicago, the series has been showered with praise for its depiction of “the joys and the heartbreak of life on the South Side in a way that is unique on television.”
Its stars include Jacob Lattimore, Luke James, and Kandi Burruss.
Speaking on the pick-up, Waithe said:
“Season 5 of The Chi is coming. It is done. It is written. You [fans have] been going with us. The Chi has been a journey. We’ve learned a lot. We’ve grown a lot. And these characters have grown with us. We’ve yelled at them. We’ve done silly things with them. We’ve watched them go from babies to young men and young ladies.”
