Already thrilling audiences aboard the BET+ reboot of ‘First Wives Club,’ GRAMMY-winning singer-actress Jill Scott did it again – this time trying her hand at a movie-adapted reboot of Michael Landon‘s classic TV series, ‘Highway to Heaven.’

The Stacey K. Black-directed film, which aired on Saturday (November 6), saw Scott soar as an angel who returns to Earth to help troubled students and families through her work as a school counselor in disguise.

Also starring Barry Watson, Ben Daon, Robert Moloney, Victoria Bidewell, and more, look inside to see the viewership figures ‘Highway’ drove to Lifetime over the weekend.

Total Weekend Viewership = 1.27 million

Over a college sports-dominated weekend, ‘Heaven’ still managed to court over 1 million eyes via a two-day run.  Its first airing Saturday night garnered 983,000 viewers while its Sunday rerun nabbed an additional 285,000.

On November 6 (the date of its original airing), the women’s network movie finished third in the viewership race among the day’s scripted programming – only bested by Hallmark holiday films ‘Next Stop, Christmas’ and ‘A Mrs. Miracle Christmas’ (which secured 2.79 million and 1.53 million viewers respectively).

Longtime fans of Scott know this isn’t the first time she’s boarded a Lifetime film remake to rock TV ratings.  In 2012, over 6.5 million viewers tuned in her, Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad, Alfre Woodard, and more bring a ‘Steel Magnolias’ made-for-TV reboot to life.
