Holly Robinson Peete makes Hallmark Channel history by bringing cultural and neurodiversity to the forefront of a holiday film.
The movie ‘Our Christmas Journey,’ her latest venture with the network as part of its annual #CountdownToChristmas campaign, sees her portray a mother who is grappling with learning how to encourage her autistic child’s independence in time for the holidays.
“I am making this movie for my son RJ, others with autism, and their families,” Peete said in a statement. “I am grateful to Hallmark for bringing this story to screen with authenticity, respect and hope.”
Starring opposite Lyriq Bent, Peete – whose real-life son is living with autism – is no stranger to advocacy on behalf of the cause as she is also a board member of the charity organization Autism Speaks.
Now bringing those efforts to light and life in a different way, look inside to see the trailer for the Kevin Fair-directed ‘Journey’ (formerly known as ‘Our Christmas Bond’) ahead of its journey to TV screens on December 4.
Romance Christmas movies are boring and overrated but to each their own 🤷 I’d rather watch “Home Alone” 😂😂
🥺 Holly is so beautiful inside and out. Hope this does well, good job Hallmark.
