‘Euphoria’ fans have ample cause for celebration. Because HBO has officially picked up the Zendaya-led series for a third season.

Presently in the thick of its sophomore run, the show has had viewers on the edge of their seats.

Anchored by Zendaya, who earned an Emmy Award for her performance as 17-year-old Rue Bennett, the series centers on the potent pressures of love, loss, and addiction.

A pick-up was largely considered an inevitability. For, beyond the show’s weekly social media dominance, it’s almost doubled its per episode ratings from its inaugural season. Indeed, the season 2 premiere amassed 13.1 million total viewers across HBO and HBO Max (compared to the 6.6 million viewer average of season 1).

Francesca Orsi, executive vice president, HBO Programming said in a statement:

“Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of ‘Euphoria’ have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.“

Much deserved!
