Former “9-1-1” star Rockmond Dunbar made headlines in November when he exited the hit FOX series in protest of their mandate that all cast and crew be vaccinated.
At the time of his departure, Dunbar said execs at the Disney-owned corporation denied his request for ‘religious and medical accommodations’ to avoid taking the COVID-19 vaccine.
That denial, according to reps for the 49-year-old actor, was grounds for the federal lawsuit he filed in California on Wednesday (February 16).

Filing the suit against show producer Disney and 20th Century FOX, Dunbar accused the companies of racially discriminating against him by not granting him the previously requested religious and medical exemption to their COVID vaccine mandate.
In the suit, Rockmond also accused the companies of racial discrimination since – according to him – “non-minority employees similarly situated were not subject to termination by avoiding the COVID-19 vaccine.”
He is seeking approximately $1 million in damages.
A rep for 20th Television released a statement in response to the lawsuit.
“To ensure safe working environments at our productions we have implemented a mandatory vaccination confirmation process. While we will not comment on any one individual, each request for exemption is given a thorough review and we grant accommodations consistent with our legal obligations. There are no differences in our process or decision-making based on an employee’s race.”
Rockmond might be blackballed by several big tv/film companies owned by Disney. They have too much control buying up everything.

As an actor he should be seeking more money I’m sure he is worth at least 6 figures why only ask for 1 million smh.
This could get interesting if he proves his point. Otherwise well pray to God for a new job at Fox if staying unvaccinated is ‘spiritual’ for you sis 🤷🏼♀️
If you want to sacrifice your career, try one for a cause that benefits many, like the Voting Rights Bill; as opposed to one that may potentially bring harm to others.
But hey, this is America, land of the free, right! Just don’t start whining about injustices if this has an adverse effect on your acting career.
