Lifetime’s ‘Single Black Female,’ a dark tale of obsession and envy, likely caused the envy of a number of networks once they copped a gander at the printed ratings charts.

Viewership = 1.37 Million (Premiere)

Starring Raven Goodwin, Amber Riley, K. Michelle, and more, the suspenseful thriller rolled out Saturday night (February 5) and served as the kickoff of the month’s slew of highly anticipated Lifetime movie premieres (including ‘Line Sisters’ and others).

Setting the bar high for the flicks that will follow, ‘Single’ – with a pull of 1.37 million viewers – was the single scripted program listed in the top 10 of a ratings list dominated by the Winter Olympics and college basketball.

Besting many of the night’s favorite reality TV, news, and sports programming, the Shari Carpenter-directed project ranked #8 among the day’s 150 top-rated cable offerings – a win undoubtedly aided by a massive presence on Twitter and other social platforms during its airing hour (courtesy of interactions among engaged social media users).

Over the course of the movie’s premiere week (thanks to viewings on the Lifetime app, streams on major platforms, repeat cable TV showings, DVR views, and more), ‘Single’ secured over 3.5 million additional views bringing its total to a whopping 5 million!
