Tina Knowles-Lawson on Jussie Smollett Jail Sentence: “The Punishment Does Not Fit the Crime”

Published: Wednesday 16th Mar 2022 by Sam

Tina Knowles-Lawson is speaking up once again about the Jussie Smollett trial.

After questioning whether the embattled ‘Empire’ actor would receive the same compassion as Amy Cooper, the matriarch and media maven is making her feelings known about the fact that he ultimately didn’t.

As reported, Smollett was sentenced to five months in jail following his conviction for faking an alleged hate crime in January 2019.

In the time since, the actor’s sister Jurnee and ‘Empire’ co-star Taraji P. Henson have condemned the jail term – claiming the move was harsh and rooted in racial injustice.

Now, Knowles-Lawson has weighed in.

Find out what she had to say below…

“No matter what opinion you have of whether or not Jussie Smollet did what he is accused of or not. The punishment does not fit the crime.

People walk away free from killing our people every day. How many instances of our young black people have been murdered in the last year, and the people whom they were with are walking free! And what about the people involved in the treason at the White House? Most went unpunished!

And then they give this man five months in Jail. Are you kidding me? This is unjust. This man is not a threat to society.
This is an example of the disparities between how we are treated as opposed to our white counterparts.

Black people, we cannot afford to let this slide! Trust me you and your family might be next! So let’s make some noise about this and ask for probation!

The judge was obviously biased and very disrespectful and they wanted to disrespect and discredit the previous District Attorney Kim Fox’s who was a black woman. Please do your research about the case and look at the crime he is accused of and look at the time given him. they want to destroy this man.

BTW If you have a difference in opinion I totally understand that but keep it positive ❤️🙏🏽”

Oh shut up!!! The truth is Jussie had PLENTY of chances to end this. He’s so much of a narcissist that he refused. Tell the whole story instead of sensationalizing it. He staged a hate crime and still lies about it today. “The gay Tupac” my a**. Tupac would neverrrr!

Her daughter, and her ex husband are thieves so she’s not a great judge of character.

First off I’m black and gay

He is a threat to society.
He literally arranged for himself to be hurt and went on to portray as he was attacked. Between the prostitution, the lies, the bad acting.. he is dangerous.

If you would arrange for men to hurt you, who knows what’s next.
Do you 5 months and stop being a psychopath.
    U don’t have to pay for d*** Jussie, it’s millions of n*****

nope, not it. this guy literally faked a hate crime, which is going to make it much harder for ACTUAL hate crimes to be investigated.

It’s the truth right there. It’s a witch hunt. When Kim fox closed the case that was supposed to be the end of it. Yet they went out of their way to crucify this man.

    ‘ our people ‘

Tina is getting very picky in reacting to things and people, based on race.

In the world many white people are judged or mistreathed as well, and about those you would not care? This is just the same amount of rasism, as you will only stick up for black people. I am white and have lived for a long time in a black neighbourhood, and every single time I was out on the streets, people would call things and names at me. When things would happen in the area, the black people would stick up and say it was a white person.

I am against every type of racism, but it happened, and still happens, everywhere.

You don’t have to be a threat to society to receive jail time, and you don’t get a free pass just because you can point out a number of instances where the courts let someone go with a punishment that you thought should’ve been more.
