In what many are deeming the end of an era, The Wendy Williams Show aired its final episode today (June 17).

No secret has been made of the health and personal issues that kept the media maven away from the 14th season of her Emmy Award-winning daytime series. The summation of which led to the axing of the series – which ran for 14 seasons.
Still, there was a palpable air of sadness in the air during this morning’s broadcast – which was anchored by long-running guest host Sherri Shepherd.
Speaking on the end of ‘The Wendy Williams Show,’ Shepherd – who has nabbed her own series (in the same slot) – said:
“We have to thank you, Wendy Williams. There is nobody like Wendy Williams. From her days on the radio to ruling daytime talk for 13 seasons, Wendy earned her title as the queen of all media. If you think about it, Wendy Williams changed daytime talk.”
Suffice to say, both Wendy and her show have delivered many a memorable moment and have contributed in earnest to the talk show sphere. A super salute is unquestionably due. They will be missed.

Wendy WILL be missed. There is no one like her. There will NEVER be anyone else like her. Regardless of how you feel about her antics, she’s an ICONIC and contributed so many legendary moments to pop culture. I really wish her well and hope she can get a podcast or something in the future!!!!!!
