‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ BLAZES Box Office with $330 Million Global Debut, Breaks US Record

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ pounced into theaters worldwide this week and is delivering dynamite results. And in some instances, record-breaking results.

The Marvel blockbuster has launched to massive numbers globally in its premiere weekend.

For, the film – which revisits the world of Wakanda in the aftermath of King T’Challa’s death (a mirroring of the real-life passing of actor Chadwick Boseman) – has premiered with a seismic $330 million total tally.

Of that sum, $180 million was accrued in the US – a record for November in the region. While $150 million was amassed in 55 international markets.

It sees ‘Wakanda Forever’ become the second-largest movie launch in the US of 2022 (bested only by the $187.4 million debut of ‘Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’). Globally the action-packed flick scoops the spot for the year’s third biggest opening, after ‘Dr. Strange’ and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ – which opened with $260 million overseas.

    Predicted this as its been highly anticipated. Got everyone on the edge of their seats and Queen Rih on the soundtrack is just the icing on the cake

    Sequels mostly always see a drop in gross. A 12% drop domestically for Wakanda Forever isn’t bad. Hopefully the numbers hold strong in the weeks ahead.
