Will Smith On Oscar Slap Fiasco: ‘That Was A Rage That Had Been Bottled For A Really Long Time’

Will Smith is getting candid.

The famed movie star recently sat down with Trevor Noah, where he did not hold back and discussed in great detail the infamous Oscar slap with Chris Rock.

Appearing on Comedy Central‘s ‘The Daily Show,’ Smith said: “I was gone, dude. That was a rage that had been bottled for a really long time.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Smith said the incident was a “mess” and that “you just never know what somebody is going through.”

However, he did state that despite what he was going though, it does not “justify my behavior at all.”

Smith’s time with Noah marked the first time that he talked about it on late night television.

His latest interview comes as Smith promotes his latest movie, ‘Emancipation,’ which pens in theaters December 2 and will stream on Apple TV+ beginning December 9.
