Netflix is a staple for millions across the globe on most days. But, it’s become oh so clear that there’s only one ‘Wednesday.’

As such, it’s little surprise that the streamer has doubled down on its commitment to the wildly popular series.

The Jenny Ortega-led show, which chronicles the life and times of The Addams Family favorite, has proven to be a seismic success for Netflix. Indeed, it serves as one of its all-time most-popular original titles with over 182 Million households reached nd 1.2 billion hours watched.

Now, viewers can look forward to more from the whimsical world after the streamer confirmed its season 2 renewal.

Speaking with Tudum, Creators/Showrunners/Executive Producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said:

“It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world.  Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”

While ‘Wednesday’ seemed to be a shoo-in for a renewal, doubts were cast over its future on Netflix.

See, contractual rights to The Addams Family, its characters, and likeness, were believed to have been snapped up by Amazon as part of its broader acquisition of MGM (which had owned the rights).

This, as well as the arguably prolonged season 2 announcement, led to reports this week that ‘Wednesday’s sophomore season could end up on Amazon’s Prime Video instead.

Suffice it to say, whatever the possible complexities there were behind the scenes, Netflix is where the next installment of ‘Wednesday’ will live.
