In breaking news, it’s been announced that iconic talk show host Jerry Springer has died aged 79.

Per his publicist, the TV icon died peacefully at his Chicago home today (April 27).
A career-long broadcaster, Springer blazed a trail with the eponymously titled series, ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ – which launched in 1991 and aired for almost three decades.
A ratings smash, the oft-scandalous show dominated the 90s pop cultural landscape and ushered in a whole new era of TV, and established a footprint way beyond the talk sphere alone.
Longtime friend and spokesperson Jene Galvin confirmed the news and paid homage saying:
“Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word
He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humor will live on.”
