This weekend will see The Weeknd make his primetime TV debut in the new HBO series, ‘The Idol.’
Set to premiere June 4, the show sees the superstar (Abel Tesfaye) take on the role of a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who begins a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming Pop idol (played by Lily-Rose Depp).
Directed by Sam Levinson (the mastermind creator of ‘Euphoria)’ and co-produced by The Weeknd, the series promises a “sick and twisted” rollercoaster ride – of the ilk few have seen before.
With just days to go before its big debut, watch the latest extended trailer below…
‘The Idol’ premieres Sunday (June 4) at 9pm ET on HBO and the network’s streaming service Max.
