Paramount+ Cancels ‘The Game’ Reboot After 2 Seasons

Published: Tuesday 27th Jun 2023 by Rashad

It’s game over for a second time for ‘The Game.’

Details inside.

Nearly two years after getting another kick at ratings glory courtesy of a critically acclaimed revival at Paramount+, the sports comedy was given the axe with no slated plans for a third season (as confirmed by the network).

A sequel to the original 2006-2015 run series ‘The Game’ (which aired on The CW and subsequently on BET), the Paramount+ iteration of the Mara Brock Alil-produced show starred legacy cast members Wendy Raquel Robinson and Hosea Chanchez and welcomed new players Adriyan Rae, Vaughn Hebron, and Analisa Velez.

The decision to cut the show was reportedly part of the network’s plan to take tax write-offs for underperforming productions.

These two seasons weren’t bad. They could reboot it again in five years and I’d still watch.

the first season was great. the 2nd season was wack & the finale was very anti climatic

They shoulda left it where it was. The Game had a GREAT run before this reboot.

Why are networks continuing to cancel the good shows and keep on the ones that are trash?! I was really liking this new reboot and wanted to know what was going to happen with Jamison after he got arrested. Please don’t cancel The Game again!!!
