Kandi Burruss has issued a thunderous clap-back to Nene Leakes.
As reported, the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ original sat down with Carlos King on the Reality With The King podcast and sounded off on her former castmates – Kandi included.
When quizzed on the fan-favorite (who is now the longest serving Housewife on any franchise), Nene deemed her “overpaid and overrated.”
During an interview on 92Q Jams, Burrus replied – and didn’t hold back.

Speaking candidly, the GRAMMY Award winner said:
“Regardless of what she – or anyone says about me – I’m winning. I go hard or go home for everything that I do, every project that I am part of. I have been winning with things before she even thought about being on TV.
I was in 12th grade with a #1 record. I was the first woman to win Songwriter of the Year (at ASCAP). I was the first woman to win ‘The Masked Singer’ for everyone that wants to say I can’t sing. Real talk. And…I am the longest running Housewife on ANY franchise. 14 seasons straight.
When it comes to reality TV, one person cannot make a show. People get mad because I’ve had so many spin-off shows. But the fact is I – by myself – am an ensemble cast. By myself. You see my family, my Momma (who is a star), my husband, my kids, my Aunts, the restauants, everyone that works there, the Kandi Koated Kliq (Don Juan, Carmen). I come with people who are ready to participate in my life and let it be seen by the world. I’m ok with everyone in my team shining.
Now, some certain people want to shine by themselves and that is the problem. They want to shine more than everyone else and then they go outside of those people and you see that you ain’t shining as bright. That be the problem.”

Nene didn’t tell any lies. Kandi IS boring. She’s annoyingly passive aggressive and a big ass narcissist. Porsha once said that Kandi only does things for people in order to hold it over her heads. Most of the people she surrounds herself with are YES men/women and she considers them to be beneath her. NeNe’s name is synonymous with Housewives. Her name is cemented in pop culture and regardless of Kandi’s run being 14 straight seasons, she’ll never accomplish that. She’s such a weirdo.

I agree with this. Kandi is the type to have others do her dirty work. She isn’t “real” as she pretends to be.
Kandi laid it out pretty clearly. For Nene to be such a “star” she hasn’t done anything with that star power outside of RHOA.

Honestly, RHOA has been boring for the past few seasons. With that being said NeNe needs to figure out her life and not worry about a housewife title. As black women in the industry there’s no need to hate on Kandi, go ask Andy for your job back and stop worrying about other people who are out her on the Chi, broadway, writing music, opening restaurants, having multiple businesses and making money. Go and cement your own legacy by using the same platform, no need to hate on Kandi. Good luck NeNe
Kandi has her opinion just as we all do. As for the OLG I’m tired of seeing old women ask a fool. Kandi is correct in that she needs her entire village to have a storyline because her storyline line is promoting s**, same s** and non productive things. Many black female’s have much more to offer however signing on to this agenda has really helped Bravo’s ratings right.
Let the truth be known, Kandi and Kenya has always used someone’s hardship against them that’s what they do. Kandi anit shining all that bright either. Take care of your kids and let Todd get out from being house dad all the time.
Plus if Kandi bragging about all she have and has done, why you on reality tv trying to act gangster and wanna whoop a**, talking aggressively at other women, but yet want them to respect your brand. It’s time you and your brand move on, you’re boring and always tired, late to meet the girls, have no storyline except being irritating to everyone else and backing Kenya up on BS
