‘The Book of Clarence’ arrives on the big screen next January.
Helmed by Jeymes Samuel, who earned praise aplenty for directing ‘The Harder They Fall,’ the film is a bold Biblical-era blockbuster.
LaKeith Stanfield leads as Clarence – a streetwise, but debt-ridden man trying to get by.
Enchanted by the magnetizing appeal of the Messiah and His apostles, Clarence puts everything on the line to make a change – and learns an unlikely lesson in the process.
Eagerly anticipated, the film features all-new music from JAY-Z, Samuel, and more.

‘The Book of Clarence’ premieres on January 12 in US theaters and January 19 in the UK.
Comedy? Drama? Satire?
This really looks like they all did their homework to create a modern but good biblical version, hats 🎩 off to the entire production/producer team.
Everybody back then was black including Jesus so this is the most accurate film involving Biblical characters that we have ever seen. I like Lakeith. I will be checking this out for sure.
