In what comes as shocking news, it’s being reported that ‘Friends‘ star Matthew Perry has died aged 54.

A representative took to press Saturday (October 28) to report the EMMY-nominated actor – whose 40-year career in the entertainment industry sees him most remembered for his portrayal of “Chandler” on the hit television series ‘Friends’ – died of an apparent drowning at his Pacific Palisades home. Local law enforcement corroborated the news.
Perry was 54.
According to officials, a 911 call came in at 4:07 p.m. local time and was treated as a water rescue. At this time there is no indication of foul play being reported and no confirmed cause of death.
An investigation is ongoing.
The news comes a year after Perry released his memoir, ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir,’ in which he detailed his battle with addiction (including a near-death experience in 2019 after his colon burst as a result of his use of opioids).
