Marlon Wayans is renowned for keeping it candid about many corners of his life.
And, as he gears up for his next standup special, the funnyman has opened up about the transgender transition of one of his children.

Speaking candidly during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Wayans shared:
“I have a daughter that transitioned into a son. My daughter Amai is now Kai.”
Expanding, the 51-year-old said:
“I just want my kids to be free. I want them to be free in spirit, free in thought, free to be themselves. The more you know yourself, the more you can govern yourself; the more you live your truth, the happier your existence. So, if they can’t get that in the household with their father and their mother, who the f*ck do I send them out into the world with that kind of confidence? And I’m just so proud of them for being them.”
Continuing, the comic said of his own journey:
“My transition as a parent, going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance.
I think there’s a lot of parents out there who need to have that message, and I know I’m dealing with it. [It’s been] a very painful situation for me, but it’s one of the best, funniest hours [of comedy] I could ever imagine.”
Acknowledging that he isn’t always a perfect parent, Wayans says Kai – who he deems “brilliant” and “the most well-read, smartest Wayans” – “know[s] I love them.”

Absolutely not! Unconditional love does not mean to accept mental illness. You guide your child, get them counseling, understand the feelings behind the situation and ensure the child is free from traumatic experiences or unknown issues that might have caused their mental support needs. Doing that and loving your child through it all is the way to go. You are born correct gender from day one and NOBODY is born gay or straight, you are born simply HUMAN! Regardless because his child is human I wish all the best.
Hollywood blacks are just as whacked out as the white ones. Be free on earth, and in fiery bondage for all of eternity. Way to have foresight. Great parenting, Marlon.
Transgender = Mental illness. Your child doesn’t need to “transition” they need therapy and medication. These parents should be charged for child abuse and thrown in jail. You aren’t supportive or woke, you are just as delusional as the child.
