Movie Trailer: ‘Not Another Church Movie’ [Starring Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox, Tisha Campbell, & Kyla Pratt]

Published: Thursday 11th Jan 2024 by Rashad

Years after satirical animated television comedy ‘The Boondocks‘ made headlines for rubbing media mogul Tyler Perry the wrong way, ‘Not Another Church Movie‘ may be en route to follow suit.

The film follows a fictitious character named “Taylor Pherry” who has to overcome hurdles thrown at him by Satan for being given a mission by God to inspire his community through the arts.

The parodic indie flick boasts an all-star cast with names like Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox, Tisha Campbell, Kyla Pratt, Mickey Rourke, Kevin Daniels, Lamorne Morris, and Jasmine Guy lining its megawatt bill.

Ahead of its arrival in theaters later this year, hop inside to see the James Michael Cummings-directed venture’s first official trailer.

Absolutely. Can’t believe he still expects people to watch his similar boring movies!!!!

Wow , you are making a negative comment and your so wrong 😔.

This was a case of being quiet so not to expose stupidity.

Tyler Perry has nothing to do with this film . It’s a PARODY .

Find a old school dictionary and look up the word .

Reading is fundamental, but comprehension is PRICELESS.

Are they serious? Can’t believe so many big names are involved in this. Do they actually expect people to pay and go to a theater to see this mess?

    • bubba January 11, 2024

Why wouldn’t people pay for this? Sound interesting with a Unique concept. An A-list Academy Award winner with some of the 1990s hottest movie stars. Jasmine Guy just won an Emmy last week. Hollywood has touch black actresses out like trash after a certain age.
Jamie is using his clout, in a good way.
I ask you again, why wouldn’t someone pay for this? I would!

To each his own! Enjoy! I MIGHT try to watch it on TV, but they definitely won’t get me to dig in my pockets or drive to a movie theater, does not look worth it imo (looks low budget and plain stupid, again, imo), regardless of the cast.

Yes they do , because it’s going to be a hilarious parody .

As a Black woman I will happily support ALL OF OUR PROJECTS. I understand that support opens doors for many . Support that is desperately needed after the sag strike .

A $20 dollar investment towards the future of blacks in arts is minimal effort. If we don’t support our arts who else will . Don’t complain about the lack of diversity, when you don’t support diverse projects .

    I rather watching Sister act

This would have been #1 on Tubi

This looks lowbrow as all hell. They literally stole Tyler Perry’s whole setup. This is a Madea movie without Madea. He needs to sue. I will not be watching this mess unless I’m at my grandma house and she got it on dvd bootleg, and the cable is out. That is literally the only way.

    • Inipow January 12, 2024

      I can’t believe you wrote this 🤣🤣🤣
It’s a whole genre called Parody . There was no theft 🤣🤣🤣.

Omg that’s hilarious. How do you not know this ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      • DJ January 13, 2024

You can write a parody and still steal someone’s ideas. I’m not saying that is what is happening here, because I have not seen it yet. The visual does give me “Madea” strongly though. Why are people acting like a work of satire (which in this case is a work of literature— film) can’t be a stolen idea. It can be.

This is magnificent! I love a good parody . It’s like the cult popular Monty Python era type of film .

Very proud to see our people employing our people.

It’s sad to see some of the low brow comments on this thread .

Why don’t people realize that unless you support these type of projects the black demographic will go unacknowledged. It takes money and backing to make the big name and produced movies . If our films don’t bring money whose going to invest ?

So when you turn on your TV and only see white shows ,when you go to the movies and only see white faces. Thank yourselves .

See Step and Fetch it, Sammy Davis etc for their sacrifices to bring us a Sidney Potier and Denzel Washington. Thank God our ancestors were smarter and more supportive.

Because it is getting tired with the making fun of Tyler. That man had a horrible upbringing and my guess is working in film saved his life. Are we now making fun of child abuse, s** abuse, church and success. If folks do not like his films don’t watch them and at least Tyler pays people.

I like to support good projects not crap films that look they should be on Tubi.
