Nearly 3 years after the legendary Dionne Warwick captured headlines for saying she wanted singer-actress Teyana Taylor to bring her life story to the big screen via an official biographical film, the latter has confirmed the movie has been greenlit and production will soon be underway.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (January 24), Taylor sent her fans into a frenzy with updates about the film.
“A woman of great statue, poise and elegance, with a fiery spirit — realizing I was looking at my future self. My reflection without a mirror. Being able to learn and study from one of the greats like @therealdionnew has allowed me to learn a lot about myself and the woman I am today,” she told her 17.4 million followers. “Thank you for trusting me, @coco_gilbert And our production company @theauntiesinc with telling your iconic story!”
Teyana concluded her heartfelt message to Dionne by sharing her elation over the forthcoming project.
“We are excited to make you proud,” the 33-year-old relayed. “Shout out to @iamdamonelliott it’s GO TIMEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! It’s been a long time coming!!!”
At the time of this report no tentative release date has been announced for the movie.
