Regina King has largely avoided the spotlight following the tragic death of her son, Ian Alexander Jr.

As reported, the star’s only child committed suicide just days after his 26th birthday.

Now, two years after the harrowing experience, the Oscar winner is breaking her silence.

Sitting down with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, the star opened up about life after losing her son.

Full story below…

An emotional King waxed candid when Roberts tactfully broached the topic of Ian Alexander Jr.’s death.

Admitting she is now a “different person now” she continued:

“Grief is a journey. I understand that grief is love that has no place to go. And that we all handle it differently.”

The full interview airs Thursday and will see King also talk her new movie, ‘Shirley’ – which she has also dedicated to her son.

Massively inappropriate. You’re either trolling as per usual or think it’s funny.. Either way words effect people. It’s downright disrespectful

You don’t commit s******. That’s old fashioned and outdated language which stigmatises a very real issue, an issue which is the biggest cause of death in young men (men under 40). S****** was previously a crime but the law changed over the stupidity of such a notion. People die by s****** or take their own life. Mental Health First Aid training teaches this. Sam and Co. Should educate themselves before sharing a sensitive conversation /topic.
