Anchored by Academy Award nominee Andra Day, the film centers on her character Ebony Jackson.
A struggling single mother fighting her personal demons, she moves her family into a new home in hopes of new beginnings.
However, when strange occurrences inside the house raise the suspicions of Child Protective Services and threaten to tear the family apart, Ebony quickly finds herself locked in a battle for her life and the souls of her children.
The film is billed as genre-defying and boldly explores themes of darkness, possession, and discovering a higher power.
Inspired by a true story, ‘The Deliverance’ assembles an all-star cast. For, starring alongside Day, are the likes of Glenn Close, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Mo’Nique.
Ahead of its streaming debut, the film will play in select theaters beginning August 16.
It better not be like that last movie Monique did, where she was a murderer 🤣🤣 it felt cheap.
But anyway I’m looking forward to this and want to see Monique win so badly… She has been a fave
